Thread and bore protection
This group includes general purpose caps, plugs and caps used to seal, cover and protect holes, bores and threads from dust, moisture and damage during transportation, storage, blasting and other surface work.
Masking and protection cap types
There are basically two types of cover and protective caps:
- Self-clamping: These plugs are available in various shapes and are generally suitable for closing holes in sheet metal, bores, threaded holes and pipes. In terms of shape, they are mostly cylindrical or conical and generally applicable.
- Threaded: Threaded plugs and caps,
also called dust plugs or dust caps, are available for metric, BSP and UNF threads. Both fully threaded and push-in versions are available. They are suitable for sealing and protecting threads, e.g. of valves, couplings and fittings. Dust plugs and caps are mainly used in hydraulics and pneumatics.
These general protection and masking products are available in various materials, including PE, PA, TPE and POM. In addition, colours range from uncoloured to signal colours such as red and yellow.
